You have a slightly greater chance of developing NAION if you have heart disease, diabetes, high cholesterol, certain other eye problems ("crowded disk"), high blood pressure, if you are over 50, or if you smoke.

Are you currently using Vardenafil (Levitra, Staxyn)?

Vardenafil is used to treat male sexual function problems (impotence or erectile dysfunction-ED). In combination with sexual stimulation, vardenafil works by increasing blood flow to the penis to help a man get and keep an erection. This drug does not protect against sexually transmitted diseases (such as HIV, hepatitis B, gonorrhea, syphilis). Using an effective barrier method (latex or polyurethane condom/dental dams) during sexual activity will help to decrease your risk of infection. Serious side effects of vardenafil

Other Medical Problems

People who can breastfeed are not usually prescribed vardenafil. It is not known if vardenafil passes into breast milk. Tell your healthcare provider if you are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed. Grapefruit or grapefruit juice can raise vardenafil levels in your body, which can increase the risk of side effects. Vardenafil orally disintegrating tablets should not be taken with water or liquids. If someone has overdosed and has serious symptoms such as passing out or trouble breathing, call 911. Usual Adult Dose for Erectile Dysfunction

If you have any questions, ask your doctor or pharmacist. Take this medication by mouth as directed by your doctor, usually as needed. Take vardenafil, with or without food, about 1 hour before sexual activity. Do not take more than once daily. The dosage is based on your medical condition, response to treatment, and other medications you may be taking.

Be sure to tell your doctor and pharmacist about all the products you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products). Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while using this medication unless your doctor or pharmacist says you may do so safely. Grapefruit can increase the chance of side effects with this medicine. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Tell your doctor if your condition does not get better. Symptoms of overdose may include: back/muscle pain, abnormal vision. Do not share this medication with others. Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Keep all medications away from children and pets. Do not flush medications down the toilet or pour them into a drain unless instructed to do so.
